Brandy, the English word for cognac reminds us of the etymology of the white wine “burnt” to preserve it, four centuries ago. The French called it “brandevin.” The cognacs from Maison Lhéraud tell the story of a family which passes on the secrets of its traditional know-how to its successive generations since 1680. They share a love of the land and produce a contemporary cognac of high quality, rigorously crafted, with 100% Ugni blanc grapes. The V.S. (very special, minimum two years of ageing) “Terres & Bois” is wonderfully fresh. Through its warm orange blush, it reveals lovely aromas of raisin, crème brûlée, candied citrus zest and a hint of vanilla. This sweetness is the perfect match for prosciutto, langoustines, lobster, or a raspberry tart.
